Sakura

I made a few samples of this Sakura Kumon earlier this year for Hanami time but never was able to release them.  Its hard to see but there is actually three shades of pink with a clear outer pour, I love the way these came out and would love to make them available next year.  I might add a little more color just to make them a little more bright, maybe some green?????

New Equipment and the Move

Its been almost a year now since we had to close our large space and move it all into one building due to costs.  Even after all this time Im still trying to make space as we had so much stuff we didn't use anymore and its expensive throwing out large garbage here.  One thing good was the timing, we had some new equipment delivered so I was able to remove part of the wall to move these two green guys in before I had to stack stuff in the paint area and cover up whatever access I would of had to the toy making area.  Thats a centrifuge and vacuum chamber by the way.

And here is the leftovers from the toy making process, pounds of cut vinyl flash and joint holes.  I usually don't have this much to get rid of but there must have been an event approaching, I can't remember when I took this picture, maybe NYCC and Dcon???  People ask why I don't use the extra for something, I don't think I could use even this amount in my lifetime and Im going to just make more in the future!

Pink

I still have these pink blanks I made a while back, probably they will end up in a lucky bag later.  Some of them are GID mix too!

50/50

First version of Nekomata Jijyo, a 50/50 split pour of royal blue and golden yellow.  I was hoping to have more than the 5 I sent to Dcon but these ended up using a lot of raw vinyl and its a one shot deal when making them so I needed a lot more material than I had to make more.  I recently made another handful and will probably have a drawing for them later, I plan to make more again later too but we'll see how that plays out.  Maybe Ill do a different color combo instead.

Halloween Kumon

The ingredients for marble flake Halloween Kumon recipe, clear with orange and black flake well mixed in and a bottle of orange and black zairyo.

Cleaning

End of the day clean up, the material for making sofubi is pretty viscous so clean up takes time and elbow grease.   Making toys is pretty tiring as the moulds are pretty heavy and after lifting them and pulling all day cleaning up is the last thing I want to do but its gotta get done, if you wait too long its like trying to clean up glue!
